In a lecture theatre before a lecture started:

Found a seat, sat down. Beside me was a local.
Me:*Smile*
Local: Hey, how're ya doin'?
Me: Not too bad. Kinda busy with the midsems tho. *Smile*
Local: *Nods in agreement* Yeah, same here. Are you an international student?
Me: Yeah.
Local: Oh cool. Where're ya from?
Me: Singapore. *Wow...I've finally found a local who might be willing to befriend an asian international student.*
Local: Nice. Your family's here with you or...
Me:...no, I'm here alone.
Local: Wow...must be hard, huh.
Me: Well..it's alright i guess...I'm getting used to it. And besides there're many asians here too.
Local: Yeah, there are, aren't there. Too many sometimes.
Me: ..........*hmm...maybe not*
